Recognised as one of the largest food events in Russia and Eastern Europe, the PRODEXPO 2026 International Food, Beverage and Food Ingredients Fair opened its doors for the 33rd time in Moscow on 9 February 2026. As part of the Turkish National Participation Organisation, coordinated by the General Secretariat of the İstanbul Exporters’ Associations (İİB), 30 Turkish companies took their place in the Turkish Pavilion to showcase their products to professional buyers from a wide geographical area. The Turkish cereals, pulses and products sector, which has reaffirmed its trust in global markets through its stabilising role in food supply and strong production capabilities, took a step forward in achieving its sustainable trade objectives in the Russian market through this fair.

On the opening day of the fair, Ahmet Onur Öztürk, Trade Counsellor of the Republic of Turkey in Moscow, visited the Turkish Pavilion and met with İHBİR Deputy Chairman Şemsettin Memiş, and Board Members Sabahattin Fidan and Muzaffer Hikmet Tonbil. During the discussions, comprehensive consultations were held on measures to expand trade volume between the two countries and enhance the operational capacity of Turkish exporters in the region. In his speech at the official opening ceremony of the fair, İHBİR Deputy Chairman Şemsettin Memiş highlighted the critical importance of PRODEXPO for the Turkish food sector and exporters, whilst sharing his visionary views on the future of the long-standing trade relations between Türkiye and Russia. On the second day of the fair, Tanju Bilgiç, the Turkish Ambassador to Moscow, and the İHBİR delegation presented certificates to the participating exporters and offered their best wishes for their success.
