The 29th Gulfood Fair, held in Dubai between February 19 - 23, 2024, hosted a record number of over 5,500 exhibitors from more than 190 countries. All of the cereals, pulses, oilseeds and products exporters' associations were represented at the Turkish Food Exporters' stand and 208 Turkish companies participated in the fair with national participation.
On the opening day of the fair, Gaziantep Governor Kemal Çeber and TMO General Manager Ahmet Güldal visited the Turkish Food Exporters' stand in the Shk Maktoum hall, where TGİ Vice President and EİB Grains President Muhammet Öztürk, GAİB Grains President Celal Kadooğlu, İHBİR President Kazım Taycı, AHBİB President Veysel Memiş were also present. Turkish Ambassador to Abu Dhabi Tugay Tuncer, Dubai Consul General Onur Şaylan and Dubai Commercial Attaché Ersoy Erbay also visited the Turkish Food Exporters' stand and exchanged views on the development of exports to the region. Tasting events featuring foods made from main export products such as pasta and bulgur attracted great interest from foreign visitors.
EİB Cereals Chairman Muhammet Öztürk: "During our meetings in Dubai, we saw that there was interest and curiosity in Turkish companies. The crowd at the Turkish Food Exporters' stand never diminished. In addition to buyers who already knew our exporters, there were many visitors who were looking for new companies for the products they needed. Both our exporter associations representing our sector and our members who took part in the fair to promote their products successfully represented our country. I believe we left a good mark and impression at the fair."
GAİB Cereals Chairman Celal Kadooğlu: "Gaziantep and the Southeastern Anatolia Region have a significant potential in food production and exports. For this reason, it is very important for our sector to constantly find new markets. In this sense, Gulfood is a fair that we attach great importance to as a sector. For this reason, we encourage our companies to participate here. This year, 39 member companies of our Association participated in the fair. The fair was successful in every sense. We can say that it is the most crowded and most successful fair organized after the pandemic."
AHBİB Chairman Veysel Memiş: "We organized two simultaneous organizations at the Gulfood Fair, where companies aiming to be more effective in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia markets flocked to Dubai, the largest of the 7 emirates of the United Arab Emirates and the most important trade and financial center of the region. 30 AHBIB member companies opened stands and introduced their products. 22 AHBİB member companies carried out marketing activities within the scope of the Development of International Competitiveness Project. We believe that we had a productive organization."
