This year, 92 companies represented Türkiye at the International Confectionery and Biscuit Fair (ISM), which was held in Cologne between January 28-31, 2024 and attended by 1350 companies from 70 countries. Cologne Consul General Turhan Kaya, Düsseldorf Consulate General Commercial Attaché İrem Ekmekçi Konuk, İHBİR Chairman Kazım Taycı and GAİB representatives visited the companies participating in the fair.
Stating that quality production, reasonable prices and geographical advantage are effective in the increased preference of Turkish artifacts, Kazım Taycı, President of İHBİR, said: "We are still on the shelves of ethnic markets in second and third world countries or first world countries with our own brand. We are not in the position we want in strong markets. But the contacts we make at these fairs are very critical. A company we make contact with here can return after 3 years. The fact that the connection is strong and that the company manages the process appropriately is also a valuable factor in this. Our exporters need to make contact in a persistent form through the window if they are fired from the door, or through the chimney if they are fired from the window."
