EİB Cereals carried out a strategic overseas marketing campaign targeting South Korea between 11 and 16 January 2026 as part of the “Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products” UR-GE project. The event, organised with the participation of nine member companies of the association, was centred in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. The delegation, led by EİB Cereals Chairman Muhammet Öztürk, was accompanied by Türkiye’s Commercial Counsellor in Seoul, who provided support to exporters in diplomatic and commercial processes. As part of the initiative, numerous bilateral business meetings (B2B) were held to enhance the accessibility of Turkish food products in the Far East market and to strengthen commercial ties between the two countries.
Throughout the delegation’s programme, activities were not limited to desk-based meetings; visits were also made to South Korea’s leading food importers, major supermarket chains and sectoral institutions to examine local consumption habits first-hand. The intense interest shown in Turkish products was notable, reflecting Türkiye’s strong production discipline and high-quality product range. Strategic product groups, such as pasta and high-quality durum wheat products—in which Türkiye holds the position of the world’s second-largest exporter—were a particular focus for South Korean professionals. The sector, which has prioritised product and distribution diversification in the Far East market, has gained new momentum towards its sustainable growth targets in the region through this trade delegation.
