Talks to develop trade with Iraq continued

Sector Board Chairman Ahmet Tiryakioğlu attended the Türkiye-Iraq Round Table Meeting, held with the honourable presence of Trade Minister Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat and Iraqi Republic Trade Minister Atir El-Gireyri. The meeting assessed opportunities for economic cooperation between the two countries and discussed opportunities for joint work within the scope of the Iraq Development Road Project, as well as investment opportunities in sectors such as energy, food, industry, logistics, construction, infrastructure and contracting. The “Agricultural Diplomacy Workshop”, organised in cooperation with the Turkish Ministry of Trade, the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and the TİM Agriculture Board, was held at the Foreign Trade Complex. The programme, attended by Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı, Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Mecnun Mamadov, and Syrian Minister of Agriculture Ecmed Bedir, was also attended by İHBİR Deputy Chairmen Kadir Kürşad Gülbahar and Şemsettin Memiş.

The event, which addressed the strategic role of agriculture in foreign trade, evaluated important steps towards strengthening cooperation between countries.
