Between 29 June and 1 July, Turkish Food Exporters participated in the Summer Fancy Food Show held at the Javits Center in New York with a stand. Coordinated by GAİB Cereals Association, managers of our member associations within the sector board participated in the fair under the Turkish Food Exporters brand; Turkish exporting companies with stands were visited and support was provided. Also within the scope of the fair, the Baklava Tasting Event organised as part of the US Confectionery Turquality Project run by GAİB, İHBİR, AKİB, OAİB and EİB, and tasting events featuring special menus prepared from our main export products attracted great interest. At the fair, where İHBİR participated with 11 member companies within the scope of the “Confectionery and Pastry Sectors Export Initiative International Competitiveness Development (ICD) Project”, Chairman Kazım Taycı and Deputy Chairmen Şemsettin Memiş and Kürşad Gülbahar visited the member stands and provided support to the companies. Meanwhile, at the fair, where 10 companies participating in the “Southeast Anatolia Food Cluster” ICD Project run by GAİB had information stands, one-on-one meetings were held with buyers, distributors and potential business partners, laying the foundations for long-term business partnerships. The fair, which was also attended by Muhammet Öztürk, Chairman of the Aegean Grain, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters' Association, and Moiz Hemsi, Deputy Chairman, was also visited by Muhittin Ahmet Yazal, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in New York.
