ISM 2026, regarded as one of the most important gathering points for the global confectionery and snacks sector, and ISM Ingredients 2026, held for the first time this year, took place in Cologne, Germany, from 1 to 4 February. Turkish companies participating under the umbrella of the Turkish National Participation organised by İHBİR showcased their products in the confectionery, snack and food ingredient sectors to an international audience of professionals. The inaugural opening of ISM Ingredients, which focuses particularly on raw materials and semi-finished products, provided a strategic platform for Turkish suppliers to expand their collaboration networks in the European market and showcase their value-added production capabilities within the food supply chain.
On the opening day of the fair, Türkiye’s Consul in Cologne, Arzu Işık Ellialtıoğlu, and the Commercial Attachés in Düsseldorf, Dilara Zümreoğlu Tek and Pınar Aslan, visited the İHBİR information stand and received comprehensive information about the work being carried out. The diplomatic representatives, accompanied by İHBİR Chairman Kazım Taycı and his delegation, visited the companies participating in the national pavilion. They presented certificates to the participating exporters and conveyed their best wishes for their success. Furthermore, the İHBİR delegation met with Turkish Consul General in Cologne Hüseyin Kantem Al as part of the fair programme, discussing strategic issues and support mechanisms to enhance the competitiveness of Turkish exporters in the German and surrounding markets. Throughout the fair, the delegation—comprising İHBİR Chairman Kazım Taycı, Deputy Chairman Kürşad Gülbahar, and Board Members Hüseyin Eviz, İsmail Gül, Mehmet Taş and Sabahattin Fidan—visited the exporters’ stands one by one to closely examine their on-site operations.
