The Gulfood 2026 International Food Fair, regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious and comprehensive food events, took place from 26 to 30 January at the Dubai World Trade Centre and the Dubai Exhibition Centre – Expo City Dubai. Reflecting Türkiye’s ambition in food exports and representing six associations, the Turkish Food Exporters brand attracted significant attention from international buyers with its large stand in South Hall 9 of the Dubai Exhibition Centre. Meanwhile, participating Turkish companies had the opportunity to present their wide range of products—catering to both traditional product demands and modern consumption habits—to the global market.
Ahmet Tiryakioğlu, Chairman of the TİM Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Sector Board, who stood by Turkish exporters throughout the fair, together with the chairmen and managers of our associations, demonstrated sectoral solidarity by visiting each of the exhibiting companies individually. During these visits, the resilience shown by producers in the face of rising costs and difficulties in accessing finance within the food and manufacturing sectors was commended, whilst steps required to safeguard export markets were discussed. In particular, recent developments in the Middle Eastern market—which forms the backbone of Türkiye’s cereals sector exports due to its logistical advantages and geographical proximity—and market diversification strategies constituted the main agenda items of the inter-delegation discussions. The Chairmen emphasised that Türkiye would maintain its position in international markets thanks to its strong production capacity and appropriate cost structure, and conveyed their best wishes for success to the participating companies.
