Turkish Food Exporters Set Off for a Global Food Fair

The TİM Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Sector Board meeting was held in İstanbul, chaired by Sector Board Chairman Ahmet Tiryakioğlu, with the participation of Sector Board Members and hosted by İHBİR. During the meeting, critical issues on the sector's short-and-medium-term agenda were discussed in detail, and strategic steps to strengthen Türkiye's position in the rapidly changing global food sector were also debated. Throughout the meeting, full consensus was reached among Sector Boardl members on collaborating on projects that would make sectoral cooperation more visible and highlight Türkiye's production capacity, innovation capabilities, and sustainability vision on the international stage.

Members shared the goal of becoming not just a follower but a leading actor in creating a global brand that transcends the sector's current potential. In this regard, it was decided to implement a new cooperation model that would showcase the sector's strength to the entire world. In the new period, a common will was expressed to make the Foodist İstanbul Fair, which operates with the ambition of becoming one of the world's leading food fairs on an international scale, the global showcase of the sector.

In this context, it was decided to establish a strategic partnership with ALZ Group and TÜYAP to guide the exhibition activities and lead the process on behalf of the sector. The meeting ruled that the Foodist İstanbul Fair should be positioned within the Türkiye Food Platform, the sector's umbrella brand, and that it should be the platform's official partner. This laid the foundations for an integrated communication and event strategy that will strengthen Türkiye's rise in food exports and make the country more visible on the global stage.
